The Miss Pacific Islands beauties did not disappoint in a Polynesian extravaganza at Crown Beach Resort and Spa on Wednesday night.

Each eight contestants from across the South Pacific were carried in by six bronzed Cook Island men atop a specially built pa’ata, to the amazement of officials, VIP guests and Miss Pacific Islands supporters.

The Pacific Island beauties each introduced a delicious delicacy from their home country which was on the specially prepared buffet, including spit roasted pig, goat curry, and an array of beautiful cuisine from across the Pacific.
Local entertainment was provided by Te Tiare band, Akirata and the Orama Dance Group.

Miss Cook Islands Association patron Tuaine Marsters attended the celebration, as did a range of special guests and tourist who were amazed by the unique cultural experience.

And despite the huge effort it took to pull off the event, Crown Beach Resort and Spa owner Rondo Perkins and managing director Erika Bult were all smiles during the event.

The Miss Pacific Islands competition will continue in the coming days.
